Summer Course Welcome Reception

A reception to welcome students, faculty, and NCAN affiliates to the first NCAN Summer Course on Adaptive Neurotechnologies. Food and sparkling beverages will be served. The reception will be held in the lobby of the Center for Medical Sciences from 5-7pm.

Special Lunches

Throughout the Summer Course, there will be multiple on-site lunches, where students can enjoy a delivered meal while mingling with faculty and other students. Prices and selections will vary by vendor. For some of the lunches, there will also be sign-ups ahead of time. Some of the potential vendors are: The Chuck Wagon, Panera Bread, Hamilton Cafe, and more!

The Chuck Wagon Food Truck

The Chuck Wagon, a family-owned restaurant specializing in BBQ and comfort food, will be parking its mobile food truck outside the Center for Medical Sciences on Monday, July 18 for lunch. Students and faculty will be able to enjoy a taste of local food without having to travel too far. Menu and pricing coming soon.

Lake George Group Outing

Don't forget your bathing suit! There will be a student outing to Lake George, a lakeside village with beaches, parks, shops, and more! Transportation is provided to and from Lake George by private bus, free of charge, courtesy of NCAN, but students are expected to make their own arrangements for activities and meals during the day. The bus will leave from University Heights College Suites on July 24 at 9:00am and return from Lake George at 5:00pm. Check out the Lake George website to plan your day!

Albany Area Events

Alive at 5

Celebrating 27 years of music, Albany’s signature free concert series premiered in the summer of 1990 with a performance by legendary folk artist Richie Havens, and has since grown into a staple of summer in the Capital Region. Showcasing a diverse lineup of big names, up-and-coming acts and the region’s most talented original artists, Alive at Five offers eight weeks of free, critically-acclaimed performances catering to nearly every taste. Returning to its roots on Broadway for the 2016 season, Alive at Five is the sound of summer in the Capital Region. Concerts are on Thursdays from 5-8pm at Broadway at Tricentennial Park (Broadway and Columbia Street in Downtown Albany).

Summer at the Plaza

Another annual series presented by the City of Albany, Summer at the Plaza hosts free events for the public at the Empire State Plaza. Their Capital Concert Series brings various music artists to the Capital Region for your enjoyment. Concerts are on Wednesday evenings from 5-9pm.
