Participants' housing will be at University Heights. Participants will be notified of their suitemates by NCAN Administration, not UH directly. Please visit the FAQ page of the UH website to familiarize yourself with the items you will need to bring. We will have a welcome package for each suite consisting of: reusable plastic cultery, plates, cups, and bowls; napkins; plastic wrap; spray cleaner; sponges; paper towels; dishcloths; toilet paper; garbage bags; shower curtains; dish soap; bar soap; laundry soap; dryer sheets and plastic hangers. All other items you may need must be brought in. We suggest that you coordinate with your roommates to bring common items (e.g. kitchen and cooking supplies). Finally, past participants have commented that the beds are quite hard, so if you prefer a softer sleeping experience, we suggest bringing a foam mattress topper.
Move-in day can begin as early as Saturday, July 6th (UH Security will have room keys).
The latest move-out day will be Sunday, July 28th.
Please be sure to wear proper attire in laboratory areas. Here are a few DO's and DON'Ts from out Safety Office to keep in mind:
Casual attire (jeans, sandals, short-sleeves, etc.) is allowed at the venue for lectures. Temperatures vary- bring a sweater!
Each student will receive a meal allowance in the form of three checks to be issued on each Monday of the Course. We will hold small dinners at local restaurants with faculty and 3-4 students to promote further interaction. Participation in Course-organized dinners is optional. More information about these events will be upon the start of the Course.
